GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for developing, coordinating and implementing education, recognition and public awareness programs and events at the Affiliate and CAS levels. The Program Coordinator position is a part time position (28 hours per week). Additionally, the Candidate will be responsible for assisting the Victim Services staff in implementing victim services activities, reporting, coordinating volunteers and providing administrative support
  
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:
1. Coordinate and organize the scheduling, participation and conducting of programs, panels and events designed to support victims, promote MADD’s mission and educate the public regarding drunk driving related issues.
2. Recruit, train and direct volunteers, facilitators and speakers for various programs, panels and events.  Maintain records of all volunteer hours and other planning materials for programs and events.
3. Other duties as assigned.

The Childhelp Children's Center of Virginia is seeking a Family/Victim Advocate to support our clients in the center.  This is a part-time, 30 hour a week position that is responsible for the following duties:
 

Family Advocate will provide education, support, and referrals to non-offending parents of abuse victims and those that experience domestic violence.
Explain the investigative process; serve as a liaison to police, social service agencies, hospital, Commonwealth Attorney office, victim service organizations, the Childhelp Multidisciplinary Team, and any other agency that may be involved with the family.
Utilize the Kids Court Program to familiarize victims and their families with all aspects of court proceedings, and accompany families to court as needed.
Act as a liaison with Child Protective Services and Police Victim Services and accompany workers on home or community visits as needed.
Establish a list of standard referrals to meet the needs of families.
Promote community awareness of services.
Represent Childhelp at various inter-agency meetings.
Conduct initial assessment of clients and track client’s progress.
Provide statistical information for grant applications and reports.

About This Position
 
Omegon is a residential treatment facility for juveniles with chemical dependence and mental health issues.

The hours are overnight from 10 pm until 8 am Saturday, Sunday and Mondays.  The starting wage is $12.00 per hour.
